Online Course for
Self-organising Teams

Patterns for Decentralised Organising

If you are trying to organise in a collaborative team, you may be asking yourself:

  • “How do we include people in decisions without spending so much time in meetings?”

  • “How do we set priorities, distribute tasks and stay aligned on shared goals?”

  • “If we don’t have managers, how do we get feedback, resolve conflict, and take care of each other?”

We will show you how to create
self-governing teams that are collaborative, inclusive, highly effective, and nourishing to work in.

The lessons we share come from our direct lived experience working in teams that have been pioneering new ways of organising since 2011.

What you'll get

Our courses cover all our Patterns for Decentralised Organising. You will find in-depth, practical guidance on...

  • how your team can share leadership

  • make decisions in a collaborative and efficient way

  • using rhythm to stay aligned on priorities and distribute tasks

  • deal with money, conflict and power dynamics

  • create a culture that cares for everyone

  • looking at the individual mindsets, and improving the teams relational skills

  • and how to get into a habit of continuous improvement in your team

You will immediately get a much clearer understanding of your team challenges. And you will learn practices and processes proven in many workplaces, that you can bring to your team right away.

You can learn at your own pace. Either choosing the Full Course covering all the Patterns for Decentralised Organising, or starting with the Track that is more relevant for your team right now.

What course participants say

"I stopped feeling like my team was the only one that was struggling with power dynamics. The training gave us the courage to start talking about how these issues turn up in our team and what to do about them.“

Anja Adler, Open State

"Nati & Rich talk about decentralised patterns with such passion and deep insight - not only is it a pleasure and inspiration to listen to them but also very useful and applicable advice."

Ulrich Schur, Enspiral

"As a co-op governance geek, who has been around the block a few times; who thought I'd seen it all... I was excited, challenged and inspired by the work of The Hum."

Mark Simmonds, Platform 6 Development Cooperative

"The most dramatic impact has been on my personal life: by "hacking"
daily stand-up and retrospective into a "daily emotional review" [me and my partner] have really got to another level of connection in our relationship".

Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen, Pixelache
