Patterns for Decentralised Organising Training

May 16th & 17th.   10am - 5pm.

Factory Forty, Rue des Anciens Etangs 40, 1190 BRUSSELS

This 2 days training is ideal for people already working with less hierarchy and more collaboration, or teams that are just starting their journey into self-management.

Teal organisations, cooperatives, Agile teams, innovation units, startups, flat NGOs… If you’re trying to grow shared leadership, participatory decision-making and mutual accountability, we can help.

Patterns for Decentralised Organising

We believe that your organisational structure must be custom-fit to the specific needs and objectives of the people you work with. We don’t have a blueprint or recipe that you can cut-and-paste onto your organisation. Instead, we offer patterns.

These are lenses that reveal new insights into your organisational challenges. We share practical solutions that we’ve tried on ourselves, and collaborative practices we’ve curated from other decentralised teams.

We prioritise culture and relationships ahead of tools and processes.

About this Training

In this 2 day intensive training we cover all 10 Patterns for Decentralised Organising, considering all the components that support a thriving collaborative workplace.

We will bring insightful training material and engaging exercises, hosting team dialogues to understand how the patterns apply in your context.

We will get into the real work of co-designing your next experiment in organisational improvement.

Outcomes

  • Learn about all 10 Patterns for Decentralised Organising.

  • Develop shared language and understanding of your team challenges.

  • Get into the real work of co-designing your next experiment in organisational improvement.

  • Experience what a nourishing, highly engaged and productive team environment feels like.

Our training method

We combine four elements:

  • Our knowledge is rooted in our lived experience in our own organisations at the forefront of collaborative work practice.

  • We bring examples from different groups around the world, as well as research from academic studies.

  • We host participatory learning exercises for participants to reflect on how these lessons apply in their group context.

  • We don’t arrive with predetermined solutions, instead we facilitate conversations for people to co-design solutions that are right for them.

In our experience, this is the most effective way for engaging people in organisational change and committing together to improve the group culture and structure.

This training is designed to work for individuals, but it will be even more valuable if you can bring multiple team members to participate together.
