Who are these courses for?


At The Hum we work with an extraordinary mix of people, from many walks of life: from political activism, to business people, government agencies, the community sector and social entrepreneurs. This course is ideally suited for people in a team that is already trying to work in a more decentralised way (you might call it collaborative, non-hierarchical, cooperative, flat, horizontal, self-managing, agile, teal, sociocratic, self-organising). It is also very useful if your team is just getting started on the self-managing journey. If you are a founder or leader seeking to create a decentralised team or organisation, you will learn what to look out for, and what structures and cultural practices to incorporate early on. If you are a coach, consultant, or trainer, this course will get you up to speed with the leading edge of the future of work. Are there any prerequisites?


You do not need to complete any previous training to benefit from this course. All you need is a good understanding of the English language, and a reliable Internet connection

What is the time commitment & format?


The course includes 6 modules (video lessons, exercises, journaling questions, recommended reading), that will each take about 60-90 minutes to work through on your own. Additionally there are team practices you can try & each module has about 5 links to extra resources: articles, videos and recommended books. So depending on your desire you could spend a few more hours per module going deeper. We recommend doing one module per week, and trying the practices with your team.
